Description

Details

Iron is an essential mineral that relies heavily on adequate contact with stomach acid for absorption in the digestive tract. For this reason, many patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgeries develop iron deficiency. In a state of iron deficiency, it is best to supplement iron separately from other minerals to reduce competition for absorption. Calcium, for example, can impair the absorption of iron. This chewable iron is made from a special very soluble form that has almost no iron taste— in fact, most people who taste it can't believe it's iron at all. This formula also contains vitamin C and FOS, which have been shown to support iron absorption.

Directions

Take 1 tablet daily or as directed by your physician.

Only the Best

Have been taking this Iron tablet for years. It is the best, I keep a stocked supply.
Works like a charm
by Skipper on 12/10/2016
I was a victim of a horrible crime last year and received multiple stabs from butcher knife in my abdomen. I had two stomach surgeries and one was similar to a gastric bypass even though I was normal weight. My iron levels kept dropping and dropping until I became anemic (unusual for a man). I then had a colonoscopy to rule out internal bleeding and luckily nothing found. Doctor suggested iron infusion but wanted to try something else. I found these and after 2 months I got new lab work. Iron and Ferrin levels are back to normal! I was so relieved. The chewable taste like sour sweet tarts and I always take on empty stomach. Wash down with water and wait awhile before eating. I was very skeptical if these would work and I can tell you they do. Feel much more energy and worth a try before doing iron infusions.
Long time user

Several years ago, my surgeon put me go on 60 mg iron . He recommended this product and I tried it. I hated the taste of liquid iron so this was perfect. The taste of this is like having a sweet tart, which I love. Now I no longer have any iron deficiencies in my labs. Perfect solution for me. Like the idea of only having to buy every nine months. Wish it wasn't so expensive, but it is the best price I could find. Been taking it for several years now and see no reason to stop. Expect to be a lifetime customer.

Bariatric patient/R.N.

I occasionally forget to order or can't afford my iron supplement.I work in the operating room for a living. It is cold in there! I work long hours some times and it takes me 2 days to warm up, that's when I know I'm low in Iron. I also occasionally give blood. If your iron is low you can't give blood! This supplement keeps me in the Black as far as far as iron! It also tastes better than Liver and Onions!

Best Iron Supplement I've Taken Yet
by PzuPzu on 7/1/2012
This is by far the best-tasting of all my sublingual bariatric vitamins or supplements, but as others have said, it is very, very tart and it does taste like a SweetTart. I actually like this flavor a lot better than I thought I would initially--I used to take the (I think) orange, and I do prefer the lemon-lime. Since it comes in the higher dosage I need, I am grateful!
I like it!
by K.T. on 3/11/2012
I'm tired of pills. This tastes like a sweet tart to me. So its like a treat. Now if I can just remember to take it on an empty stomach. I will definitely order more.
great product
by rkp on 6/29/2011
I've taken this product for 2 1/2 years, which is when I had bariatric surgery. This product was recommended by the clinic that performed my surgery. My levels of iron have always been good. The taste is very good as well. I did some reading up on iron and now know it has to be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water - no coffee/tea or it will impact the absorption, so I take it first thing in the morning and wait an hour before having anything to eat.
taste good!
by Carolyn on 7/6/2016
Tried many types of iron before finding these. They are easy to remember because they don't need to be refrigerated. And they taste like a sweet-tart, so I don't mind taking them! Really improved my iron levels; mostly because I wasn't forgetting to take them.
Great for Low Iron
by Cheryl on 12/14/2014
My iron has always been low. After I had bariatric surgery I had to have 2 vials of iron as I was still iron deficient even though I was taking over the counter (expensive) iron. After I started taking this my labs went up, but now I take 3 a day and my lab work is the best it has ever been. Taste I don't really like but can tolerate it as long as my iron levels are where they need to be.
Tart, taste like candy!

by angel in the desert on 7/10/2012
I needed to find and iron tab that my body could absorb and have been taking these for 3 months. But I found them on bariatric choice in a bigger bottle, ty ty. I like the lemon lime taste, it's dissolves in a couple minutes.
Very Tart
by Venerican on 3/9/2011
Doesn't taste bad - just very, very tart. Like you're eating Country Time Lemonade powder without the water. Wish this would come in some other flavors.
