I have only microwaved this, but after reading the reviews, will do stovetop from now on.
The first time I tried it, I thought there was a bit of an aftertaste, maybe from the apples?
Also, it was too thin. The next time, I added a dash of cinnamon, about a T. of almond flour, and it was much better. The third time, I did the above, but added some protein powder to give it extra protein. Also, after it was cooked, I added just a dash of real cream. Yum! And it is filling. Much lower in carbs and sugar than the high fiber oatmeal at the grocers.
Would definitely order again.

I tried both preparations, microwave and stovetop. Hands down, the way to go with this is the stovetop method. The oatmeal bubbles slowly in the pot and when done, it has a nice creamy consistency and great flavor. When I microwaved it, it came out sticky and lumpy.

This oatmeal tastes great. I usually add some protein powder (which mixes in very well) and some strawberries.

I added 1oz of extra water when cooking, this helps with the thickness issue and then added 1/2 tsp of brown sugar splenda to sweeten and an extra sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Excellent! (Updated on 12/28/2008.)
