The nectar protein is SO much better than any other brand I have tried. I love the cappuccino flavor. I like to mix some of the other flavors together - chocolate and cherry is great. Lemonade is good mixed with peach, cherry, or caribbean cooler.

Maybe it is because I am only 10 days post-op from VSG but I cannot tolerate the smell or aftertaste. I can barely get the fuzzy navel and the lemonade down, even mixed with juice. I do like the cappuccino flavor a lot. I can tolerate the lemon tea flavor but only in small batches. Maybe if I did not have to sip so slowly it would be better.
So far I don't like any of the protein drinks I've tasted, but since I just started on full liquids I had to mix mostly with water.

I had my first ever protein shake this morning. I was so nervous about hearing how horrible they were from others in my nutrition class. I have to say that this product (the Cappuccino flavor) was absolutely delicious! I mixed it with skim milk in the blender bottle. It was smooth, creamy, and wonderful. I highly recommend this product to everyone.

I had RNY last September. I wasn't able to find a decent protein drink .now at 6 months out i can handle a little milk so my favorite drink on this site is the Chocolate Truffle
my recipe for a great shake:
1 tray of ice cubes
1 and half scoops of chocolate truffle
1 packet of tasters choice hazelnut instant coffee packets
half teaspoon of regular taters choice instant coffee
half cup of whole milk
I dump all of this in my double blade Ninja large size mixer and blend till it turns from brown to white and looks like soft serve
i dump it all in one of the shaker bottles i bought on this site with the wire ball in it.
It makes one perfect size to that tall bottle and takes me 1 hour to drink.it tastes great!!!and i get over 30 grams of protein that way and get my morning coffee in . i cant live without it!LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I had gastric bypass surgery in 1/2004. I have not found a protein product that I could handling drinking. The after taste and taste in general was horrible. I drink 1 to 2 protein drinks a day now. Every flavor is very good. The fuzzy navel and the Caribbean cooler are my favorite. You can not go wrong with this product and I have a lot more evergy and feel better since using this. I give this product an A++++.

Just when I thought I would literally throw up if I had another milk based chocolate or vanilla protein shake, I discovered this website and this product. I picked the Fuzzy Navel flavor because several people had mentioned they liked it and I was desperate for a product that had a high amount of protein in one scoop. I find it's best when mixed with 1.5 cups of cold water and refrigerated to keep it as cold as possible. While it still has a slight protein-like smell, it's a relief from the above mentioned products. I'm going to try the ideas mentioned by others of mixing it with low sugar beverages - sounds like it could taste even better! Thanks to everyone who writes reviews - what would I do without you!!!

Change of pace to milk based protein shakes

I just recently had RNY about 3 weeks ago and came across this website looking for an alternative to vanilla & chocolate protein shakes. I've been getting sick of milk based protein shakes and looking for another option. I read all of the reviews about Nectur and felt positive that this would be worth trying. I ordered the Fuzzy Navel, Roadside Lemonaide & Caribbean Cooler. I will say that these are not good with water alone. Mixing them with other no sugar drinks or low sugar drinks works best or does for me. I use the Roadside Lemonaide with Crystal light Lemonaide & its do-able. The Caribbean Cooler mixed with low sugar OJ is AWESOME! Someone suggested it in a previous review & I swear it tastes like a tropical drink you'd get at a resort! Really Yummy. The Fuzzy Navel tastes good with Ocean Spray Sugar Free Peach & White Grape mix, Diet V8 Splash or with OJ. Its pretty versital if you like peach. However, I will say that I can't bring myself to add an entire scoop to any of my drinks. Its just too much and doesn't taste good to me. I use about half a scoop per 8-12 oz of juice. Then I know I'm getting about 11grams of protein but that I need to drink twice as much throughout the day to get the full 23grams of protein if I were to use a full scoop of protein powder. I would rather continually sip on a few drinks throughout the entire day then choke down something that tastes awful. These protein powders are good, but I think they tastes bad using only water. Mixing with another similar flavor or something flavored already that would pair well with it works nicely. Its a nice break from vanilla milk or chocolate milk shakes. Give this stuff a try or there are sample variety packs that are available to order on this website and others to see how you like it too. Just remember give yourself time to experiment.

Before i had my surgery i start it drinking protein shakes, i swear i hate it, i tried most everything until i come across this wonderful product, i love it, I like the fuzzy navel. I don't get bored or tired of drinking it. I recommended to anyone. (Updated on 2/4/2010.)
