Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron (29mg) - Passion Fruit (90 Count)
90 Tablets Per Bottle

Flavor: Passion Fruit.

Iron is an essential mineral that relies heavily on adequate contact with stomach acid for absorption in the digestive tract. For this reason, many patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgeries develop iron deficiency. In a state of iron deficiency, it is best to supplement iron separately from other minerals to reduce competition for absorption. Calcium, for example, can impair the absorption of iron. Our chewable iron is made from a special very soluble form that has almost no iron taste — in fact, most people who taste it can't believe it's iron at all. This formula also contains vitamin C and FOS, which have been shown to support iron absorption.

5 out of 5 stars Very good!

I have been fighting anemia since shortly after surgery. I needed an easily digested ferrous fumarate supplement. And this one tastes decent, too! I go Monday to see how my anemia is doing. Hopefully this has helped! The flavor is good and it seems to digest quite well.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad!
by carol from tx on 10/25/2011

I was really surprised that these tasted so good! I dissolve one in my mouth along with my berry or watermelon flavored multi to improve their flavors. I only occasionally get a hint of that Geritol flavor. These are definitely worth a try!

5 out of 5 stars Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron, 29mg, Passion Fruit
by Mickerbud from Gurnee, IL on 10/21/2011
Recommends it to Friends: Yes
I am very pleased with the grape flavor. It is not chalky at all nor does it leave a gritty residue after chewing. I wish I could find a multivitamin in chewable form that tasted as good as these. I can barely stand the ones I am taking now!

by Debi from Cranston,RI on 8/31/2011

It has been difficult to keep my iron levels "normal" because of the taste or side effects of many other iron supplement. This one tastes good and does not cause any stomach problems. I am 3 years post op from gastric bypass...this is very important toward healthy maintenance.

5 out of 5 stars This item a miracle!!!
by MaryVL from Atlanta, GA on 7/25/2011
Recommends it to Friends: Yes
My bariatric doctor was clear that both the multi vitamins and iron supplements are to be chewable for better absorption. For 2 years, I've just barely endured the lemon-lime flavored iron, well aware that chewable iron that is tasty is like asking for a miracle. Not only do the lemon-lime iron tabs taste horrible, but they melt! YECK! Desperate for a tolerable alternative, I read the other reviews on this product, ordered it, and kept my fingers crossed. Well HOORAY! The other reviewers are right! This supplement may not taste exactly like 'passion fruit', but it is EXCELLENT, with NO taste of iron!!!

This item taste good, and it doesn't have the bad after taste that I was getting with my other iron supplement.
