The chewable calcium tablet was developed to conveniently meet multiple needs of the Bariatric patient. The flavors help the patient address ketosis breath and general breath odor, along with providing the most bio-available form of calcium and other nutrients that have been shown to support bone health. The delicious flavors are very low in carbohydrates and provides them with the most bio-available form of Calcium and other minerals that have been shown to promote bone health.

Nutrients that make up The Bariaric Advantage Chewable Calcium Citrates are:

- Calcium Citrate — Repeatedly shown to be the most bio-available form of calcium. Calcium Citrate does not require an acidic environment for absorption, so it is an excellent choice after weight loss surgery. This form of calcium may protect against kidney stones, so it is safe to recommend to “at-risk” patients.

- Magnesium Chelate — Magnesium is important for bone health and supports calcium absorption. The amino acid chelate is easy to digest and is not likely to be irritating. Magnesium is also an important nutrient for cardiovascular health.

- Vitamin D3 — This natural form of vitamin D is readily converted to the active form needed for bone health. Vitamin D is needed both for calcium absorption and utilization. It is especially important to DS/BPD patients who have malabsorption of fat soluble vitamins.

- Vitamin K — Vitamin K plays an important role in bone health. Vitamin K is needed to synthesize osteocalcin, a major protein in bone. Low levels are associated with bone loss in men and women.

In the past I have order the calcium citrate lozenges in the fruit and mint flavors. I recently order the chocolate lozenges and find that they are too big and take too long to dissolve leaving a terrible taste in the mouth. Sorry.

These are much better than the wild cherry. The cherry weren't bad, but the were real tart. I have to take any of them with water because they are so bulky & chalky. But overall, the chocolate is much better than the cherry. (Updated on 12/27/2011.)

These are Great! I have been using the chocolate chews which leave an after taste. I just love Cinnamon and these do not leave after taste. look forward to my Calcium treat every day and only have to have 3 a day. The chews require 6 per day. It is so very important to get your calcium. As a nurse I see several Bariatric patients that do not take their supplements as they should and end up with health issues. Great way to get your Calcium Citrate!

Not bad! Prefer this flavor over others as the Cherry was a bit tart. I wish they came in the vanilla something or other flavor that the Multivitamins come in. They are awesome!! (Updated on 10/22/2011.) (Updated on 12/3/2011.) Ordered the cinnamon this time. Reminds me of the cinnamon toothpicks as a teenager. Liked them too. At least these don't shrivel the tongue!! Pills are too big to chew...and they want you to take 3 a day. No way...I will eat cheese and milk to get my calcium. The chalky taste and texture upsets my stomach.

Oh my word are these horrible. I would never ever recommend these chewable chalky, gritty, bitter tasting chocolate calcium lozenges to anyone. I wasted a LOT of money on these and I am NOT happy. I can not imagine any human being able to tolerate even one.

A great tasting chewable calcium at an affordable taste. Yes, tablets are large, but easy to break up and chew. I love the chocolate flavor. Like a treat in every tablet.

This is a great product for post bariatric surgery patients. It is the right kind of calcium and the lozenges are flavorful. My only complaint is the cost and the fact that they are rarely on sale. I try to buy when sale priced, but if I run out, have to use another product until sale again. Retired and living on pension.

I don't know about the other flavors but the chocolate one is inedible. I bought this huge bottle of 270 and wish I could get my money back. I have tried and tried but just dread taking them; yes, they are huge - the size of a fat quarter or so! They turn into this gluey mess in your mouth and are almost impossible to swallow. I can't stand that I have to take two a day and dread taking them. Don't do it!
