Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Lozenges w/ Vit. D. 400/500mg
270 Chewable Tablets Per Bottle
NOTE: Chocolate and Wild Cherry are now 500mg tablets. Cinnamon and Mint are 400mg tablets.
Flavors: Chocolate, Wild Cherry, Cinnamon, Mint.
The chewable calcium lozenge was developed to conveniently meet multiple needs of the Bariatric patient. The flavors help the patient address ketosis breath and general breath odor, along with providing the most bio-available form of calcium and other nutrients that have been shown to support bone health. The delicious flavors are very low in carbohydrates and provides them with the most bio-available form of Calcium and other minerals that have been shown to promote bone health.
Nutrients that make up The Bariaric Advantage Chewable Calcium Citrates are:
- Calcium Citrate — Repeatedly shown to be the most bio-available form of calcium. Calcium Citrate does not require an acidic environment for absorption, so it is an excellent choice after weight loss surgery. This form of calcium may protect against kidney stones, so it is safe to recommend to “at-risk” patients.
- Magnesium Chelate — Magnesium is important for bone health and supports calcium absorption. The amino acid chelate is easy to digest and is not likely to be irritating. Magnesium is also an important nutrient for cardiovascular health.
- Vitamin D3 — This natural form of vitamin D is readily converted to the active form needed for bone health. Vitamin D is needed both for calcium absorption and utilization. It is especially important to DS/BPD patients who have malabsorption of fat soluble vitamins.
- Vitamin K — Vitamin K plays an important role in bone health. Vitamin K is needed to synthesize osteocalcin, a major protein in bone. Low levels are associated with bone loss in men and women.

Wild Cherry....The taste is ok but it's very chalky and actually ripped up the roof of my mouth. I put 3 of them in water and drink it over a hour. Wish they had a liquid version of this. Other it will do until I can find something better.

I first tried the cinnamon flavored chewables, they were good, but a little hot. I now have the chocolate flavored tablets and they are like the chocolate- malted candies we had in the fifties. I didn't find either one to be chalky.

Cinnamon I LIKE! At first was a bit hard to get used to as it is a bit chalky & spicy, but after a week of taking them they are almost like getting a "treat". I tried the mint, and mint to me tastes too "medicine" tasting, almost like milk of magnesia. I am next ordering the chocolate to see how that one tastes!! I need to take 4 of these per day after mty RNY surgery, so gotta try them out to see what you like.

I love the chocolate flavor- it tastes like hot cocoa. I started taking them after my GB surgery in Nov 2007 and plan to continue taking them as long as they keep making them.

The chocolate calcium supplement has got to be the worst I have ever had. The surgeon's office let me try a sample then of the cherry and cinnamon, and those too were chalky, gritty and downright nasty. I tried grinding them up in shakes, in pudding, etc. I would not recommend these to anyone. Disgusting!!

Wow, the Bariatric Choice Calcuim Citrate is excellent! The cinnamon taste is great and I love it. The experience is so great that I don't forget to take my vitamins daily because I remember the taste. I am not the best person to remember to take "pills" but now that I have the multi-vit and calcuim citrate, I have not forgotten to take my daily vits. Thanks Bariatric Choice!

These "lozenges" are HUGE.. and are very difficult to take. 2 tablets are only 400 mg so in order to take the 1500mg a day I needed I would have had to take about 8 of them a day and they taste terrible.. and are very chalky. I returned them.. yuck.
